is this (or that) cable compatible with Windows Vista® ?

Compatibility with Windows Vista® is determined by the maker of the peripheral device. If your parallel or USB printer is known to work with Windows Vista®, the cables will work. The printer manufacturers determine whether or not your Vista operating system can "talk" to its printer. If you have questions, see the web site of your printer manufacturer.

how can you sell a USB 2.0 cable for $1.99? what's the catch?

We have had this question asked enough times that it deserves a place in the faqs page. The answers are that we are a privately held corporation, we don't have a board of directors and shareholders to answer to.  We buy products in bulk directly from our importers on the West coast and pass along the savings. Yes, these are the same quality cables you will find at the larger national chains but without the large fancy packaging. Our USB cables, as well as all our products, come with a Lifetime Warranty. Yes, we realize these cables sell for $30 at the large national chains. Our overhead is lower and we do make a small profit on the sale.

How do I make a return and get a refund?

See this page - Making a return. Refunds are processed the next business day following our review of the returned item - usually 3 - 5 business days. We will issue a credit to the credit card you used for payment. See our returns policy page.

where do i get the drivers for my peripheral device?

Drivers are small pieces of software that allow the peripheral device (printer, all-in-one, GPS device, etc.) to communicate with the PC's operating system. Despite some widely held beliefs, the cabling manufacturer companies don't create these software programs. It is the maker of the peripheral devices (HP, Lexmark, etc.) that write and produce drivers. The cables are simply conduits that have the ends that allow the PC (or laptop) to connect to the peripheral device. All this to say, your best bet is to go to the web site of the maker of your peripheral device and look for the driver that allows your external device to connect to your PC (or laptop) with the operating system you are using.

what cable do i use to go from my PC's parallel port to my usb printer?

There is not a cable made for this purpose. Best suggestion is to install a USB card (or PCMCIA card for a laptop), then use a USB A/B cable to complete the connection to your USB printer.

i need a cable to go from my dongle or software key and my PC or laptop doesn't have a parallel port. what do i do?

Chances are that you already have a cable or dongle/key and what you really need is a parallel port that your new PC or laptop does not have. If you install a parallel port, this should resolve the issue. Parallel ports are available on our Accessories page. These parallel ports will create a port (EPP or LPT1) that the software key or dongle needs. If you need a cable for just a parallel printer - no all-in-ones - our USB to DB25 female cable will work for you. Finally, if you need a standard parallel cable (available in many different lengths), those are found on our parallel cables page.

Can I use the USB to parallel cable on my mac?

No. The reason is Macs are built to use USB to USB. Therefore, printer manufacturers (HP, Lexmark, Brother,  etc.) rarely develop drivers for Mac USB to Centronics (parallel) connections.
